Gaetano Miccichè joins the Prelios Group Board of Directors and will be appointed Deputy Chairman

Prelios S.p.A. (Prelios Group) held its annual general meeting today. Among other items, the shareholders approved the increase in the number of directors from 6 to 7 and the appointment to the Board of Directors of dott. Gaetano Miccichè, Chair of Banca IMI, the Intesa Sanpaolo Group’s investment bank.

The term of office of the new director will end with the mandate of the other members of the current Board of Directors, that is, on the date of the AGM for the approval of the Prelios S.p.A. financial statements as at December 31, 2020.

Dott. Miccichè will also be appointed to the post of Prelios S.p.A. Deputy Chair, at a later meeting of the Board of Directors.

He was born in 1950 and holds a degree in Law, an MBA from the Bocconi Business School with a merit diploma in 1984 and a Master of Masters from the Bocconi - Master Alumni Association, in December 2008.

From February 2010 to April 2016 he was General Manager of Intesa Sanpaolo, and subsequently also a member of the Management Board until 2016. From January 2007 to April 2016 he was head of the Corporate & Investment Banking Division of Intesa Sanpaolo and CEO of Banca IMI from October 2007 to March 2015.

He began his career in Banca Intesa in June 2002 as head of Merchant Banking, going on to hold positions of growing seniority in the area handling medium and large Italian corporations and large international groups with interests in Italy.

He began his career in February 1971 at the Cassa Centrale di Risparmio delle Province Siciliane, where he rose to become head of Corporate Clientele. In April 1989 he joined Rodriquez S.p.A. as Chief Financial Officer. In November 1992 he became General Manager and subsequently Chief Liquidator of Gerolimich - Unione Manifatture. In January 1996 he was appointed General Manager of Santa Valeria S.p.A. and in October 1997 CEO and General Manager of Olcese S.p.A.

He is currently a director of RCS SpA, a member of the strategic advisory board of Neuberger Berman/NB Renaissance Partners Ltd., a member of the scientific committee of Politecnico di Milano and a member of the Steering Council of ANSPC - Italy's national credit study association.

Previous prominent positions include director of Prada, Pirelli, Telecom Italia, Alitalia, Edison, Borsa Italiana, 21 Investimenti and director of the Italian Banking Association; he was also President of the Lega Calcio Serie A football league and Vice President della FIGC football federation.

On May 31, 2013 he was made a Cavaliere del Lavoro by the President of the Italian Republic, Giorgio Napolitano.
