THE FUND PARCHI AGROALIMENTARI ITALIANI (PAI) HAS BEEN ESTABLISHED

  • THE FUND WILL DEVELOP THE F.I.CO. EATALY WORLD BOLOGNA PROJECT
  • THE THEME PARK WILL ATTRACT OVER 6 MILLION VISITORS EVERY YEAR

 Milan, 2 April 2014 – Prelios SGR established the Fund Parchi Agroalimentari Italiani (PAI), reserved for qualified investors, with the assets contributed following to the tender procedure called for by CAAB, the Agricolture and Food Centre of Bologna.

 

The Fund managed by Prelios SGR will develop the project F.I.CO. (Fabbrica Italiana Contadina) Eataly World, the theme park that will be the international point of reference for the dissemination and knowledge of the Italian agriculture, food and wine excellence through the reconstruction of the most important production pipelines.  

 

The Fund has an initial value of about € 100 million of which  about € 55 million account for the market value of the area directly contributed by CAAB against the issue of fund units and over €40 million account for the equity paid in by leading institutional investors.

 

 The Fund duration will be 40 years.

 

 The park F.I.CO. Eataly World, that is planned to be opened by the end of 2015, thus creating an ideal bridge with Milan EXPO, will be built on the 80,000 sq. m. area of the City fruit and vegetable market (that is planned to be moved to an adjacent area) and will include specific areas of the agriculture, food and wine sector, broken down by farming, production, catering, study, research, education and marketing & sale.  About 6 million Italian and foreign visitors are expected every year, with a significant impact also on downstream local activities.
