- GIOVANNI PETRELLA APPOINTED AS NEW MEMBER OF THE BOARD COMPOSED OF A MAJORITY OF INDEPENDENT DIRECTORS (5 OUT OF 7)
Milan, 14 January 2013 – The Ordinary Shareholders’ Meeting of Prelios Società di Gestione del Risparmio S.p.A. has appointed two new independent Directors: Alberto Rossetti to hold the office of Chairman in replacement of Prof. Ferro-Luzzi who passed away, and Giovanni Petrella.
New specific skills are therefore added to Prelios SGR Board of Directors, now composed of 7 members, the majority of whom, i.e. 5 Directors, are independent.
Alberto Rossetti, the newly appointed Chairman of Prelios SGR, started his career in 1973 at Banca Nazionale del Lavoro in Rome. In the ‘80s he was nominated Commendatore dell’Ordine “Al Merito della Repubblica”, as a result of the activity performed for Istituto del Mediocredito Regionale della Calabria. In 1987 he was appointed General Manager of the Londonheadquartered London Italian Bank Ltd., where he successfully completed the bank reorganisation. Later he covered leading roles in ABN Amro Group and Capitalia. He is currently Board Member of international banks and insurance groups and collaborates with Pontificia Università Gregoriana.
Giovanni Petrella is Associate Professor of Economics of Financial Intermediaries at the Faculty of Banking, Finance and Insurance Sciences of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Milan) where he teaches Derivatives, Derivative Securities Pricing and Market Microstructure. He performs research activities on the microstructure of financial markets, derivatives and asset management and has published research studies in national and international journals. He is member of Consultative Working Group of the ESMA (European Securities and Markets Authority) Secondary Markets Standing Committee.
